Juan Manuel Gomez, 63, entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Villa Residential Care of Harlingen in Harlingen. He was born on Monday, August 11, 1952 in El Campo, Texas to Jose Maria Gomez and Victoria Munoz Gomez. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife; San Juanita Flores Gomez, son; Juan Manuel Gomez, Jr. and brother-in-law; Robert Rodriguez.
He is survived by his son; Michael J. Gomez, daughter; Veronica J. Gomez, granddaughters; Chelsea Daniel Phillips and Amber Denise Phillips, brothers; Twin Ramon (Inez) Gomez, Twin Roy (Sylvia) Gomez, Pablo Gomez, Martin Gomez, Joe (Sarah) Gomez, Ernest (Ofelia) Gomez and Rick Gomez, sisters; Olivia (Herman) Alcantar, Alicia G. Rodriguez, Aurora G. (Rene) Flores, Odilia Casares, Melinda Valdez and Flora Gonzalez.
Juan proudly served his country in the Navy from 1972-1975. He enjoyed to fish, dance and sing during karaoke. He was a Edinburg High School Bobcat fan. He attended Sun Valley Adult Day Care in Harlingen. He will be missed by his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched.
His family will receive friends today, December 3, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Christian Mass will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Christian burial with military honors will follow to Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission, Texas. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be his son and brothers; Michael, Ramon, Roy, Pablo, Joe, Ernest, Rick and Martin Gomez. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
