Julia Salazar

April 11, 1918 — July 4, 2012

Julia “Mo” S. Salazar, 94, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at her residence in Edinburg.  She was born April 11, 1918 in Los Herreras, N.L., Mexico to Silverio Sanchez and Florencia Salinas Sanchez.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Marcelino Salazar, Sr., brothers; Salvador Sanchez and Felix Sanchez, sister; Agapita Sanchez.

Julia is survived by her son; Marcelino (Isabel) Salazar, Jr., daughter; Maria Elena (Juan, Sr.) Salinas, grandchildren; Eufemia (Rey) Garza, Agapita (Sergio) Diaz, Juan (Mary) Salinas, Jr., Reynaldo (Katy) Salinas, Melissa (Joel, Jr.) Arevalo, Mario (Audrey) Salazar and Felix (Christina) Salazar, 7 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Julia enjoyed gardening, sewing and crocheting.  She loved to cook for her family, but her greatest love of all was spending time with her grandchildren and family.  She will truly be missed by all those whose lives she touched.

The Salazar family will receive friends today, Friday, July 6, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. A Christian Mass will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg.  Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg, TX. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers; Mario Salazar, Felix Salazar, Joel Arevalo, Jr., Juan Salinas, Jr., Reynaldo Salinas and Marcos Garza. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
