Julian Morales Partida, 82, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center in Edinburg. He was born on a Saturday, January 7, 1939 in Edinburg, Texas to Cosme Partida and Juanita Morales Partida. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Hilario and Gertrudis Partida and sister; Juanita Partida Gomez.
He was a devoted and beloved husband of 60 years to Alma Gloria Villarreal Partida whom he married on a Sunday in February 12, 1961. He was a cherished father to Victor Joel (Martha Aguilar) Partida, Gabriel (Cheryl Koble) Partida, Arnoldo (Katherine Eubanks) Partida and Veronica Partida. Treasured grandfather to Madison Lee (Matthew) Partida Nischan, Mario Partida, Monica (Javier) Vera, Aaron (Victoria Rodriguez) Partida, Kailey and Kobe Partida. Adored great-grandfather to Liam Michael Partida, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He lived in Edinburg all of his life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. As a young man he worked at Partida Grocery Store (Owned by his parents) for six years before working at Groce Warden Company for ten years. In 1970, he and his brother-in-law; Edelmiro Villarreal opened City Auto Parts and operated it for 22 years. He retired from the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District Food Service Department in 2009. His generosity towards his family, friends and strangers was a testament to his character. He loved watching boxing on TV, fishing at South Padre Island and any excuse to have a family gathering. He was a tremendous husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed and never be replaced.
His family would like to invite his friends to celebrate his life by attending a Catholic Mass on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 216 North 16th Avenue, Edinburg, Texas 78541 or the American Cancer Society (cancer.org/involved/donate.html). Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and Staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
