Lydia Olivarez, 89, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance, Cornerstone In Edinburg, Texas. She was born on a Thursday, August 3, 1933 in Delmita, Texas to Gilberto Olivarez and Emilia Alaniz Olivarez. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers; Ernesto Olivarez and Johnny Hernandez.
She is survived by her loving daughters; Pearl Sova and Abigail ((Joseph Baudelio), grandchildren; Lee Olivarez, Jessica Robyn Moncivais, Brandon Kelly Gil, Jillian Nicole Silva and Chelsey Addison Silva, 1 great grandson; Talon Kain Olivarez, sisters; Consuelo Hernandez, Elia Ortiz, Beva Hernandez, Esperanza Morin and Elena Torres and brothers; Manuel Hernandez, Jr. and Daniel Hernandez as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Lydia was a faithful servant of God, loved to read and enjoyed gardening and sewing. As a young lady she worked at her La India Maria Restaurant in Edinburg which was owned and operated by her grandmother, Petra Farias. She especially loved spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
The Olivarez Family will receive friends on Monday, May 29, 2023 from 4:00 PM -8:00 PM with a prayer service to be held at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 1701 East Richardson Road, Edinburg, Texas. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandson. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
