Manuel L. Gutierrez, Sr., 93, entered eternal rest on Friday, September 14, 2018 at his residence in Linn, Texas. He was born on Sunday, June 07, 1925 in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico to Clemente Gutierrez and Ana Maria Llanos. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife; Isidra C. Gutierrez, daughters; Benita Gutierrez and Norma Llamas, brothers; Guadalupe Gutierrez and Jesus Gutierrez.
Left to cherish his memories are his children; Juanita ( Cirilio) Villarreal, Rosa (Fernando) Delgado, Clemente (Olga) Gutierrez, Jr., Maria Luisa (Ruben, Sr.) Alfaro, Maria Guadalupe (Antonio) Alfaro, Manuel Gutierrez, Jr., Roberto (Vicenta) Gutierrez, Carlos (Victoria) Gutierrez, and Jesus Javier (Vanessa Reyna) Gutierrez, 32 – grandchildren, 57 – great grandchildren, 11 – great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Manuel lived in Linn-San Manuel most of his life and was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in San Manuel. He was a farmer all of his life and always provided for his family. He enjoyed watching and playing baseball and softball, his favorite team was the Texas Rangers. He lived life to the fullest and left on his terms with God’s help. He will be deeply missed by his family, but his legacy will continue through them.
The Gutierrez Family will receive friends today, Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in San Manuel, Texas. Catholic burial will follow to El Rucio Cemetery in San Manuel, Texas. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Clemente Gutierrez, Sr., Manuel Gutierrez, Jr., Roberto Gutierrez, Carlos Gutierrez, Jesus Javier Gutierrez and Fernando Eduardo Delgado. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
