Maria Del Soccorro Borrego

Maria del Soccorro Borrego, 79, entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Mid Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mercedes, Texas. She was born on a Friday, November 16, 1945 in La Florida, Loreto, Zacatecas, Mexico to Jose Cruz and Maria Santos Reyes Cruz. She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother and 6 sisters.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years; Hector Borrego, son; Hector E. (Guadalupe) Borrego, David (Stephanie) Borrego and Daniel (Jennifer) Borrego, 6 grandkids as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Maria was a hardworker who worked at Haggars Clothing in Edinburg, Texas. She had a love for cooking as well as enjoying sewing and gardening. She especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched. 

The Borrego family will receive friends and family on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM for a Memorial Service to be held in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg, Texas. A prayer service to be held at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home. Interment of Ashes will follow at 11:00 AM at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens, 46907 North Sugar Road, Pharr, Texas. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Funeral Director/Manager and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
