Maria Concepcion "Maria Concha" Elizondo, 60, entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center in Edinburg. She was born on Thursday, June 14, 1956 in Edinburg, Texas to Faustino Martinez, Sr. and Viola Carmen Garza. She is preceded in death by her mother, son-in-law; Robert Velasquez and brother-in-law; Rogelio Rodriguez.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters; Suehadie Elizondo, Nora Jean Velasquez, Brianna Esperanza (Joe Quintanilla) Cantu, son; Noe (Anabel) Elizondo, Jr., father of her children; Noe Elizondo, Sr., father; Faustino Martinez, Sr., brothers; Faustino (Diana Tovias) Martinez, Jr., Jose Alejandro (Maria G.) Martinez, Reynaldo (Sylvia Ann) Martinez, and Lisandro (Olga) Martinez, sisters; Deanna (Mario) Rodriguez and Margarita Rodriguez, 3 - grandchildren; Peyton Noel Elizondo, Kaleb Alonzo Quintanilla and Kaylee Hope Quintanilla, numerous nieces and nephews.
Maria Concha lived in Edinburg all of her life and was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She graduate from Edinburg High School in 1976. She worked at Benavides Driving School and Rio Grande Defensive Driving for many years. She enjoyed dancing, cooking, and loved listening to George Strait. She was very supportive of her second family: The Edinburg Fire Department and most importantly through her tough LOVE, her children and grandchildren were her life.
Her family will receive friends on Monday, March 6, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Noe Elizondo, Jr., Faustino Martinez, Jr., Jose Alejandro Martinez, Reynaldo Martinez, Lisandro Martinez, Marco Martinez. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and Staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
