Maria De la Luz Lopez, 91, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Amara Hospice in Edinburg. She was born on Thursday, December 16, 1926 in Durango, Mexico to Jesus Lopez and Clemencia Rodrate Lopez. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Ricardo Alviar, daughters; Maria Guadalupe Zapata, Maria Nieves Tijerina, Maria De Jesus Alviar and Francisca Alviar, son; Jose Antonio Torres, and grandson; Luis Alviar.
Left to cherish her memories are her son; Roberto Alviar, sisters; Francisca Garcia and Guadalupe "Lupe" Lopez, brother; Cipriano "Pano" Lopez, 10 - grandchildren, 11 - great grandchildren, and 1 - great great grandson.
She enjoyed sewing, decorating easter eggs, attending to her cattle and animals. She also enjoyed dancing and listening to music. She will be deeply missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
Her family received family and friends on Monday, February 5, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road in Edinburg. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
