Maria Pena Perez, 87, was called by our Lord on March 3, 2010. We pray our “Tia Mary” is finally reunited with the love of her life, her husband, Teodoro Perez Guevara.
She is preceded in death by her parents Marcos Pena Garza and Maria Hernandez Martinez, her 6 sisters; Apolinar Pena (Eligio), Micaela Ozuna (Jose), Dominga Perez (Pablo), Gregoria Silva (Israel), Basilia Guerra (Ismael), Socorro Rivas (Pedro), and her 3 brothers, Rodolfo (Cristina Garza), Bernardino (Inez Lupita Hernandez), and Marcos (Antonia Saenz).
She is survived by her sister, Amanda Pena Garza (Adalberto) of Santa Elena, Texas and sister-in-law, Yolanda Alvarez
While “Tia Mary” never had any children of her own, she was loved by all her numerous nieces and nephews. Maria lived all her life in Delmita and was a very independent person with a very kind heart.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Rojas Family of Delmita, Texas for the kindness, compassion, and friendship they extended to our dear aunt. The family also wishes to thank the staff at McAllen Nursing Center for the care they gave our aunt during the last year of her life.
Viewing will be at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg, Texas from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 07, 2010 with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at San Isidro Catholic Church in San Isidro, Texas on Monday, March 08, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Rojas Cemetery in Delmita, Texas
