Maria Elia San Miguel, 74, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at her residence in Edinburg. She was born on January 13, 1940 in Edinburg, Texas to Feliciano Cano, Sr. and Rosa Coronado Cano. She lived in Edinburg all of her life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Santiago “Chago” San Miguel, Sr.; grandson, Santos San Miguel, Jr.; son-in-law, Luis Herebia; brother, Jose Angel Cano; brother-in-law, Silvinio San Miguel; and sister-in-law, Ninfa San Miguel.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Santiago (Mary Ann) San Miguel, Jr., Santos (Esmer) San Miguel, Sr., Alonzo (Tina) San Miguel; daughters, Anita Herebia and Imelda San Miguel; brothers, Feliciano (Dora) Cano, Jr., Esteban (Dominga) Cano, Ruben (Guadalupe) Cano; sister, Sylvia (Francisco) Velasquez; sister-in-laws, Elizabeth Cano, Rita Fuentes, Esperanza Chasco, Nora San Miguel, Nelda San Miguel, Norma San Miguel; brother-in-laws, Noe San Miguel, Noel San Miguel and Jose Angel San Miguel, 20 – grandchildren and 13 – great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today, Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian mass will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian Burial will follow to La Blanca Community Cemetery in La Blanca. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be Santiago San Miguel, Jr., Santos San Miguel, Alonzo San Miguel, Imelda San Miguel, Jimmy San Miguel, and Dimitre San Miguel. Funeral Services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
