Mariano Garza, 79, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Edinburg Regional Hospital Center in Edinburg. He was born on Monday, January 22, 1940 in Los Laurles, Carmargo Tamps, Mexico to Mariano Garza Elizondo and Lilia Barrera Garcia. He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 Brothers and 2 Sisters.
Mariano is survived by his loving wife of 50 years; Maria Guadalupe Garza, children; Mariano Garza, Jr., Maria Elena (Eduardo Rodriguez) Garza, Rosa Lilia (Juan Cepeda) Garza, and Veronica Garza, 18 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, 6 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mariano was a hardworking man who always provided for his family. He enjoyed dancing and fishing. His family, friends and all those who knew him will dearly miss him.
His family received friends on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM with a Holy Rosary prayed at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be celebrated today, Friday, May 17, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Mariano Garza, III, Jose Christian Garza, Ricardo Cantu, Marcos Cantu, Aaron Ramirez, Oscar Ramirez, Osiel Ramirez and Emilio Ramirez. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
