He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother; Nicanor Villaneda.
Mariano is survived by his wife of 65 years; Maria Guadalupe Villaneda, sons; Rodolfo Villaneda, Arnulfo Villaneda, Francisco Villaneda, daughter; Rosa (Juan) Leyja and 16- grandchildren
Visitation services for Mariano were held Tuesday, January 5, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg, with a rosary held at 7:00 p.m. Christian services were held Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial followed to Hillcrest Memorial Park, in Edinburg, Texas. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
