Marta G. Lopez, 79, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 27, 2010 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on April 13, 1930 in Beeville, Texas to Victoriano Garza and Candida Rodriguez.
Marta is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Toribio Lopez, Sr.,
Marta is survived by her son; Toribio Lopez, Jr., daughters; Maria Candida (Arsenio) Cardenas, Diana (Howard) Lopez- Koppelman, Martha (Kirk) Robinson, 3- brothers, 8- sisters, 11- grandchildren, 14- great-granchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marta loved sewing, singing alabanzas, cooking, preparing nopalitos, raising chickens, gardening and walking. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
Visitation for Marta will be held today, March 1, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg, with a rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. Christian services will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
