Maximiana Ybarra Garza, was granted her angel wings on August 14, 2017. Her final days were made comfortable and were spent surrounded by family and friends at Amara Hospice in Edinburg. Maxi was born on May 30, 1931 to Julian and Nicolasa Ybarra and lived most of her life in San Manual.
She married the love of her life, Severo Garza, Jr., on January 31, 1953.
Maxi was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was always supportive and taught her children to be strong, independent and to believe they could accomplish anything.
She is survived and will be missed by her children Maria Llanos (Arturo), Juan Garza (Sheri), Rose Garza (Joe Fazio), Elia Vicencio (Ramon), Diana Gutierrez (Raul +) , Jaime Garza (Linda), Melissa Sierra (Mando) and a step-son, Willie (Sylvia). She had 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, 3 great-great grandchildren.
Special thanks to her family provider Mr. Aboujamous at MCFC, DHR NSICU staff, and staff at Amara Hospice for going above and beyond your call of duty of care. A very special thanks to family friend, Edith Raya, for putting a smile on her face as soon as she would walk in the house. She would sit and make conversations with her while they shared meals during her last month with us.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in San Manuel, Texas. Catholic burial will follow to El Rucio Cemetery in San Manuel. Reception for family will follow at St. Anne’s Parish Hall. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
