Nolverta O. Gonzalez 95, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, June 15, 2022 at Windsor Arbor View Nursing Home in Edinburg, Texas. She was born on a Wednesday, April 6, 1927 in New Braunfels, Texas to Jesus Maria Ozuna and Maria Villarreal Ozuna. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Blas Gonzalez, siblings; Josefa Villarreal, Guadalupe Guerra, Sofia Guerra, Estanislado Ozuna and Antonio Ozuna.
Nolverta is survived by her children; Martha Gonzalez, Francisca Gonzalez, Margil (Phyllis) Gonzalez, Sr., Guadalupe (Roberto) Reyna, San Juanita (Juan) Olivarez, Reynaldo (Blanca) Gonzalez and Irma (Ricardo) De Leon, brother; Juventino Ozuna, 21 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 21 great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She lived in Edinburg most of her life and was a caring and loving mother who loved quilting, sewing and crafting. She loved to cook, make her delicious pan de polvo and pansonzo which was enjoyed by all her family. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched.
Her family will receive friends on Sunday, June 19, 2022 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg, Texas. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg, Texas. Catholic burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road in Edinburg, Texas. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Ino Alonzo, Martin Alonzo, Margil Gonzalez, Jr., Marcos Reyna, Orlando Olivarez, Mario Gonzalez and J.J. Zamarripa. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
