Olga Gallegos

Olga Gallegos, 71, entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Solara Specialty Hospitals in McAllen. She was born on a Saturday, December 24, 1949 in San Antonio De La Barranca, Matehuala, San Luis Potosi to Wenceslao Gallegos and Cornelia Ontiveros Gallegos. She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter; Esperanza Vasquez.
Olga is survived by her children; Maribel Trevino, Homer (Laura) Trevino, Ricardo (Brandy) Trevino, Olga (Rafael) Mata, Bertha (Alfredo) Hernandez, Roberto Cavazos and Rafael (Denise) Esquivel, brother; Erroen (Olga) Gallegos, sisters; Yolanda Flores and Eliea Ontiveros Gallegos, 26 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Olga lived in Edinburg most of her life and was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in San Carlos. She worked very hard to provide for her children by working as a house keeper with several hotels/motels and eventually retiring from Exquisita Tortillas, Inc. in 2014. She was a strong independent woman who lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched.
Her family received friends on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a Rosary recited at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Christian services will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Peace. Catholic burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Omar Trevino, Ricardo Trevino, Rafael Esquivel, Rafael Mata, Alfredo Hernandez and Angel Vasquez. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
