Olivia Hinojosa, 94, entered eternal rest on Friday, February 07, 2014 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center in Edinburg. She was born October 5, 1919 at Santa Monica Ranch in northwest Hidalgo County, Texas to Margarito Hinojosa, Sr. and Liberata Longoria Hinojosa. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Margarito, Jr., Gumaro, Nicasio, Sr., Alvaro and Jacinto Hinojosa; sisters, Sofia, Maria V., and Cruz Hinojosa; and great niece, Jennifer Lea Champion.
She is survived by her loving sister, Angelita H. Champion; sister-in-law, Criselda V. Hinojosa; nieces and nephews, Nicasio Hinojosa, Jr., Frank C. (Elia) Champion, Jr., Eddie R. Champion, David N. Champion, Anna M. Champion, Zulema O. (Johnny) Garcia, and Iris Y. Hinojosa, and great nieces and nephews.
Olivia was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg and San Isidro Catholic Church in San Isidro. She was a devoted daughter, sister and aunt who had a very kind and giving nature. She was a very generous and respected lady. She always did for others before herself. Olivia would always greet you with a smile and offer you anything she could give you. She loved the ranch life at Santa Monica Ranch. She enjoyed horseback riding, sewing and quilting. She enjoyed the outdoors and even played softball in her younger years in school. She loved telling family stories about the old days. She will greatly be missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.

Her family will receive friends Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Christian Mass will be held Monday, February 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
