Orfelina Gutierrez

It is with deep sadness, that the Gutierrez family must announce the untimely passing of our matriarch, Orfelina (Linda) Gutierrez. After suffering a major asthma attack, and cardiac arrest, our dear mother, wife and solid rock of our family, was unexpectedly taken from us on April 6, 2012.
Linda was born in Edinburg, Texas on November 9, 1934 and later moved to the Los Angeles area with her husband; Rogelio Gutierrez and then 1 year old daughter Stella, in 1956. She is survived by her husband; Rogelio, daughter; Stella Fisher, son-in-law; Andy Fisher, son; Gabriel Gutierrez, 3 sisters; Rita Garza, Ninfa Flores, Elmira Nino, and brother; Manuel Flores.
Linda’s endless love and devotion was felt by everyone who knew her. She was a very giving person and always had a smile which brightened any room she was in. She enjoyed a 25 year career with UCLA Medical Center as supervisor of their credit/collections department, and retiring in 1987.
The Gutierrez Family will receive friends today, Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. A Christian Mass will be held Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen, TX.
