Oscar Alaniz, 66, entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at McAllen Heart Hospital in McAllen. He was born on Monday, April 2, 1951 in Edinburg, Texas to Mr. Elijio Alaniz and Maria Cantu Alaniz. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Aristeo Alaniz and Hector Alaniz, Sr., and brother in law; Matilde Vasquez, Jr.
He is survived by his daughters; Marissa (Victor) Lopez, Adelina (Roberto, III) Salinas, Veronica Alaniz, and Erica Alaniz, brothers; Marcos (Rebecca) Alaniz, Elias (Irene) Alaniz, Sr., and Eliseo Alaniz, sisters; Elida Vasquez, Emma (Dan) Grummett, Estella Allie, Elisa (Noel, Sr.) Ysasi, and Delia (Ariel) Martinez, 18 - grandchildren, 6 - great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Oscar lived in Edinburg all of his life and worked as a Truck Driver for Benny Guerra and Sons Trucking for many years. He was a very social person and enjoyed spending time fishing. He will be missed by his family and friends.
A private service will take place at a later date. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
