Petra V. Rodriguez, 87, entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. She was born on April 15, 1927 in Hidalgo, Tamaulipas to Gabriel Villela and Margarita Cerda Villela. She is preceded in death by her husband, Anselmo Rodriguez, Sr.; sons, Teodoro Rodriguez, Anselmo Rodriguez, Jr., Ricardo Rodriguez; daughters, Estella Rodriguez, Mercedes Rodriguez, Mercedes Rodriguez, Gabriella Rodriguez; her parents and brother, Gabriel Villela.

She is survived by her loving family; son, Domingo Rodriguez; daughters, Mekila Villarreal, Delia Villarreal, Celia Nunez, Maranda Acosta, Ramona Hoyuela; 24-grandchildren; 21-Great-Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Petra lived most of her life in Hargill, TX. She was a very loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and had a love for plants and gardening.  She will truly be missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home. Christian services will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home. Christian Burial will follow to Valle De La Paz Cemetery in Hargill. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be Ramon Hoyuela, Andres Nunez, Cesar Acosta, Jr., Andrew Nunez, Teodoro Lara, and Alejandro Rodriguez. Funeral Services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
