She was born on Saturday, April 29, 1950 in Laredo, Texas to Alberto Martinez, Sr. and Silvina Castillo Martinez. She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 - brothers and daughter-in-law; Elida Talamantes.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 48 years; Carlos "Charlie" Talamantes, children; Carlos (Anissa) Talamantes, Jr., Rachel (Israel Flores) Talamantes, Robert Talamantes, Michael Talamantes and Michelle (Joe Guzman) Talamantes, siblings; Gloria Gonzalez, Maria Rodriguez, Alberto Martinez, Jr., Sylvia Martinez, Gracelia Brulloths, Rojelio Martinez and Bertha Mendez, 19 - grandchildren, 12 - great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Margie, alongside her husband; Charlie, owned and operated T's Country Corner Grocery Store on the corner of Cesar Chavez Road and East Texas Road in Edinburg for over 25 years. She enjoyed fishing, playing "Bingo", slot machines, cheering for her favorite N.F.L. team; the Dallas Cowboys. She also enjoyed traveling with her family around the country and taking cruises. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, friends and customers. She was a very happy and outgoing person who lived life to the fullest. She will be missed by her family, friends, customers and all those whose lives she touched.
Her family will receive friends today, Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow to Palm Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 4607 North Sugar Road in Pharr. Having the distinguished honor to server as pallbearers will be Carlos Talamantes, Jr., Robert Talamantes, Michael Talamantes, Israel Flores, Joe Guzman, Jose Cano, Anthony Talamantes and Charlie Talamantes, III. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
