Rafael Lopez Alanis

Rafael Lopez Alanis, 81, entered eternal rest on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Amara Hospice in Edinburg, Texas. He was born on a Tuesday, January 21, 1941 in San Augustin, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Rafael Lopez and Matilde Alanis. He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Maria Lopez, children; Jose Rafael (Sandra) Lopez, Melissa (Mario) Lopez Garcia, Marilu (Sixto) Lopez and Melinda (Arnoldo) Tijerina, 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Rafael lived in Edinburg most of his life and work for the City of Edinburg from 6 years in the sanitation and street department. He was a mechanic by nature, but a handyman by trade. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and those whose lives he touched.
His family will receive friends on Monday, January 31, 2022 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Chapel service will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Michael Lopez, Mark Lopez, Mario Garcia, Jr. and Fabian Tijerina. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and Staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
