Edinburg- Rafaela Bernal, 81, entered into eternal rest on September 12, 2013 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg, Texas. She was born to Nazario Carcano and Francisca Torres Carcano on December 30, 1931 in La Accencion, N.L., Mexico. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Francisco Bernal Sr. and her son, Alonzo Bernal.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving family, son, Francisco Bernal Jr.; daughters, Veronica (Ignacio) Serrato, Marivel (Guadalupe) Salazar, Yolanda Bernal and Esperanza (Alfredo) Salinas; daughter in law, Maria Concepcion Bernal; sisters, Guadalupe Carcano Gomez and Maria del Refugio Rodriguez; 13 – grandchildren and 11 – great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Rafaela was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved to sing and cook for her family and was very fun and loving. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
Visitation will be held today, Saturday, September 14, 2013 & Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg, TX. A Christian Mass will be held Monday, September 16, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg, TX. Interment will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg, TX. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be Frank Bernal Jr., Paul Bernal, Alfredo Salinas, Adan Salinas, Ignacio Serrato, Clemente Ruiz, Juan Carlos Martinez and Guadalupe Salazar. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg, TX.
