EDINBURG — Ramiro “Reme” Ramirez, Jr., 57, entered eternal rest on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at his residence with his family surrounding him. He was born on October 21, 1956 in El Campo, Texas to Ramiro Ramirez and Maria Ydolina Garza Ramirez. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Romeo Ramirez and sister, Maria Ramirez.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 25 years, Olga Ortega Ramirez; son, Romeo Ramirez; daughter, Aissa Ramirez; brother, Roel Ramirez; sister, Maria Y. (Carmen) Gaitan, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Reme worked for the City of Edinburg Parks and Recreation Department for over 20 years. He loved watching wrestling and football and was a Dallas Cowboy Fan. He had a positive outlook in life and was always smiling and joking. He was a hard worker who always provided for his family. His pride and joy were his children. He touched many lives and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
The Ramirez family received friends Friday, February 21, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn in Edinburg. Christian Mass will be held today, Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be J.D. Martinez, Eddie Casarez, Noe Garza, Abram Ortega, Adan Ortega and Ruben Ortega. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
