Ramiro E. Villarreal, 80, entered eternal rest on Friday, August 15, 2014 at McAllen Heart Hospital. He was born on July 19, 1934 to Enrique Villarreal and Mauricia De Los Santos in Benavides, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Heberto Mario Villarreal, and sister-in-law, Beatriz Villarreal.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 41 years, Eusvelia Vasquez Villarreal; daughters, Araceli (Domingo) Porras, Ana Maria (Jay) Alonzo, Alma Alicia (John) Guiza; brother, Edelmiro Jose Villarreal; sister, Alma Gloria (Julian) Partida, 13 – Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ramiro is a Veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 to 1958. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and lived in Edinburg most of his life. He worked for Lacks furniture store for 40 years until his retirement in 1998. He was a handy man who enjoyed fixing old cars and buying lottery tickets. He will be missed by his friends, family, and all those whose lives he touched.
His family will receive friends Monday, August 18, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. A Christian mass will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be Antonio Alonzo, Adam Alonzo, Alejandro Alonzo, Abel Alonzo, Diego Porras, and Dante Porras. Funeral Services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
