Ramona G. Salas, 59, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 16, 2010 at Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. She was born on July 17, 1950 in Victoria, Texas to Antonio Garcia and Emilia Flores.
Ramona is survived by her loving husband of 43 years; Jose Guadalupe Salas, sons; Daniel Edward (Nilda) Salas, Juan Jose (Aleida) Salas, and Jose Angel (Laura) Salas, daughter; Elizabeth Ann (Martin) Carranza, brothers; Dolores (Rosa) Garcia and Sam (Irma) Garcia, sisters; Eva (Daniel) Ortiz, Elida Rocha, and Alicia Garcia; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded by her parents.
Ramona was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved traveling, cooking and making great homemade tortillas. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched.
The Salas family will be receiving friends on Monday, April 19, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian mass will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Christian burial will follow to Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be Daniel Edward Salas, Sr., Juan Jose Salas, Jose Angel Salas, Daniel Edward Salas, Jr., Bryan Carranza, Alex Jay Salas, and David Andrew Salas. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
