Raul Rodriguez

Raul Rodriguez, 69, entered eternal rest on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Windsor Arbor View Nursing Home in Edinburg, Texas. He was born on a Monday, August 8, 1955 to Luz Rodriguez in Bay City, Texas . He is preceded in death by his mother and brother; Juan Contreras.

Raul is survived by his loving children; Ronnie (Nicky) Rodriguez and Alyssa Maravilla, six grandchildren; Nico Rodriguez, Ryan Rodriguez, Mikaela Rodriguez, Trey Rodriguez, Andrick Maravilla and Evan Salazar, siblings; Guadalupe “Cheetah” (Antonia) Rodriguez and Maria Garza as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Raul or “El Tortilla” as he was affectionately known as worked for Region One for 18 years and also Edinburg North High School. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, playing bingo and watching as well as playing baseball. He was well known for being a musician, playing for so many people at many funerals. However his greatest joy in his life was spending time with his family. Raul will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

The Rodrguez family will receive friends on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM for a memorial service with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg, Texas, Memorial mass to be celebrated on Friday March 7, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Capilla San Jose, Lull or “La Hielera” 4101 North Flores Street in Edinburg. Services for Mr. Rodriguez will conclude after the memorial mass. Funeral services are under the direction of Johnny Garcia, Funeral Director/Manager and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
