Rosita L. Vera, 77, entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. She was born on a Thursday, October 26, 1944 in San Juan, Texas to Basilio Luera and Eva Singleterry. She is preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband; Carlos Vera, Sr, son; Carlos Vera Jr, grandson; Carlos Vera, III, son in law; Leonel Bazan Jr, sister; Maria de la Luz Mercado and her brother; Francisco Luera.
Rosita is survived by her companion; Roberto Garcia; children; Corina (Rick) Garza, Edward Vera, Deborah (Pedro) Rodriguez, Judith (Fernando A.) Vela; her brothers; Daniel (Liz) Luera, Mario (Chelina) Luera, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosita lived in Edinburg most of her life and was a devoted and loving nurse for over 35 year at times affectionately called “Mom” by everyone. Her loving spirit made her a humanitarian by nature and a natural social butterfly. She loved all her pets and enjoyed hobbies such as gardening, cooking, sewing and decorating. Rosita will be greatly missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
Her family will receive friends Friday, December 17, 2021 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 9:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn, Edinburg, Texas with the burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road, Edinburg, Texas. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Nathan Garza, Dr. Edward Vera, Jr, Ethan Charles Vera, Pedro Rodriguez III, David Galeno, Corinne Demi Rodriguez, Charlene Rose Vera and Victoria Rose Galeno. Honorary pallbearers will be; Israel Fernando Vela and Gianni Garza. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and Staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
