Ruben Flores, Sr., entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Amara Hospice in Edinburg. He was born on Friday, February 18, 1955 in Cuevitas, Texas to Abel Flores, Sr. and Guadalupe Gonzalez. He is preceded in death by his father and brother; Abel Flores, Jr.
Ruben is survived by his wife of 31 years; Norma Linda Flores, sons; Jacob Ruben Flores and Ruben (Dina) Flores, Jr., daughters; Loraine (Rene Loredo, Jr.) Flores and Monica (Frank, Jr.) Rendon, brothers; Baldemar Flores and Ricardo (Irene) Flores, sister; Maria Luciana Ayala, 11 - grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
He worked in the oil fields for over 15 years. He enjoyed racing, hunting and watching "El Chavo del 8". He will be truly be missed by his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched.
His family received friends on Monday, February 15, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be Ruben Flores, Jr., Jacob Ruben Flores, Francisco Javier Rendon, Jr., Elisandro Flores, Mario Garcia, Guadalupe Flores, Jr., and Jose M. Flores. Honorary pallbearers will be Ruben Flores, III and Alize Neaveh Flores. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
