Samuel “Sam” Mario Gonzalez, 50, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, Texas. Sam was born on a Thursday, October 17, 1974 in Shelby, Michigan to Guadalupe Gonzalez and Juanita Esparza.
Sam is survived by his loving wife of 3 years; Alma Noelia Gonzalez, children; Samantha Marie Gonzalez, Albert Josiah (Jarice) Gonzalez, Michael Isaiah (Brandon Maldonado) Gonzalez and Victoria Denise (Rufino) Garcia, 8 grandchildren, his parents; Guadalupe Gonzalez and Juanita Esparza, siblings; Margarita “Maggie” (Juan) Silva, Rosalinda (Juan) Silva, Veronica Gonzalez and Guadalupe “Lupe” (Letty) Gonzalez, Jr., his loving fur babies; 3 dogs; Oscar, Nannie & OJ and a cat; Punches as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Sam was a loving son, uncle, father, grandfather and friend to many who knew him. He was known to always be socialable and outgoing, dancing, singing karaoke and playing billiards. His favorite pastime was spending time with his loving family. Bar B Queuing and watching games during the football season because he was known to be an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.
The Gonzalez Family will receive friends on Friday, April 25, 2025 from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg, Texas. Services for Sam will conclude after the viewing. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Funeral Director/Manager and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
