Mr. Santos Diaz, 79, entered eternal rest on Friday, December 25, 2015 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center in Edinburg. He was born on Sunday, February 16, 1936 in Mexico to Porfirio Diaz and Santos Iglesias Diaz. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Nelda Diaz, sisters; Francisca Diaz, Aurora Gonzalez and Amelia Moreno, and brother; Elias Portales.
Santos is survived by his wife of 56 years; Emma Estimbo Diaz, dauther; Ivette Diaz, son; Samuel Diaz, sisters; Maria Luisa Ramirez, Eliza Portales, Sara Benavidez and Saturina "Toni" Torres, brother; David Portales; grandchildren; Ernesto Trevino, Jr., Lisa Yvette Salinas, Leonardo Isac Trevino and Ray Richard Trevino, numerous nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed buying lottery tickets and being with his family. He will be missed by his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched.
His family received friends on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a prayer services at 7:00 p.m. in the Family Chapel at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Christian services will be held on Wednesday, December 30,2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Family Chapel at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg. Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg is in charge of funeral arrangements.
