Sylvia Gloria Rodriguez

Sylvia Gloria Rodriguez, 69, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at her residence in Edinburg. She was born in Rio Grande City, Texas on Sunday, November 11, 1951 to Lauro H. Salinas and Dora M. Salinas. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Left to cherish her memories are her children; Clarissa Cortez, Andrew Vincent Rodriguez III and Rebecca Veronica Valverde. Her sisters; Socorro de la Garza, Maria Lydia (Joel) Garza, Maria Isabel (Luis Guerra) Hinojosa, Imelda S. Ortiz and Cynthia Laura (George) Ramirez. Her grandchildren; Mia Valverde and Joey Valverde as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Sylvia lived in Edinburg most of her life and was a generous, kind-hearted person who loved music and dancing. Always a loving and happy person who put others before herself. This drew others to her warmth which allowed her to personally interact and be a part of Mi Pueblito Adult Day Care. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched.

Her family will receive friends Monday, June 28, 2021 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Funeral services for Sylvia will conclude following the mass. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and Staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home.
