Teodora “Lola” S. Villarreal, 86, entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at her residence in Edinburg. She was born on April 10, 1928 in Edinburg, Texas to Luis Salinas and Maria Celia Salinas. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Gilberto Villarreal, daughter; Norma Villarreal Guerra, brothers; Gilberto and Santos Salinas, sisters; Maria Luisa Garza and Celia Salinas.
She is survived by her children; Eusebio (Amanda) Villarreal, Fred Villarreal, Luis (Frances) Villarreal, Eva (Felipe) Villarreal Gutierrez, brothers; Amalio Salinas, Juan Manuel Salinas, sisters; Maria Hortencia Garza, Sara Salinas, Eudelia S. Guerrero and Noelia Salinas, son-in-law; David Guerra, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
She lived in Edinburg all of her life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a strong independent woman who had a strong will and was persistent to succeed. She owned and operated several successful businesses in Edinburg. She owned Monte Cristo Heights Grocery Store, Mrs. T’s Nursery, Cactus Garden and Nopalitos Restaurant. She was a loving and caring woman who enjoyed spending time with her family and gardening.
Her family will receive friends today, Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a holy rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
