Teresa R. Cantu

Mrs. Teresa Cantu, 91, went peacefully to the Lord with her family and friends by her bedside on Friday, April 27, 2012 at her residence in Edinburg. She was born on August 19, 1920 in Coleman, Texas to Jose Rivas and Mauricia Flores Rivas. She live in Edinburg most of her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Roberto A. Cantu, son; Robert Cantu, brothers; Daniel Rivas, Roberto Rivas, Samuel Rivas, Gilberto Rivas, and Dario Rivas, and sister; Maria Magdalena Rivas.
Left to cherish her memories is her sons; Pablo (Naida) Cantu, Raul (Mary Lou) Cantu, Armando (Julia) Cantu, daughters; Mauricia R. Cantu, Sylvia (Guadalupe) Yzaguirre, and Esperanza (Arnoldo) Mercado, daughter-in-law; Mary Cantu, 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She loved to work on her yard, but her greatest love was helping raise her grandchildren. She will truly be missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched. The Cantu Family would like to give a special “Thank You” to IPH Hospice in McAllen and P.A.C.E. Home Health Care in Weslaco for the care they provided for their mother.
The Cantu family will receive friends today, April 29, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. in the Family Chapel at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian services will be held on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Family Chapel at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home.
