Trinidad H. Garza, 88, entered eternal rest on December 24, 2010 in Edinburg, Texas. Mrs. Garza was born in Joppa, Texas to Isidro Hernandez and Juanita Benavidez Hernandez.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Fidel Garza, Sr., son; Amando Garza, brother; Santos Hernandez, sisters; Felipa Hernandez and Juanita Garcia, and daughter-in-law; Hilda Cantu Garza.
She is survived by her loving children; Fidel Garza, Jr., Ofelia (Alejandro) Salinas, Amancio (Karen) Garza, Trinidad (Linda) Garza, Rigoberto (Estela) Garza, Hermelinda (Leopoldo) Castro, Ysidro (Mary Helen) Garza and Juan Garza, brothers; Jose Hernandez and Gil Hernandez, twenty-three grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She lived in Edinburg most of her life and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg.
Our heartfelt thanks to her caregiver Octavia Alvarez that was extremely helpful in taking care of our mother for the past five years.
Family will receive friends today, December 28, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers; will be her grandsons; Alejandro Salinas, Jr., Marco Antonio Garza, Rigoberto Garza, II, Thomas Garza, Trini Jon Garza, and Vicente Castro. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to (V.A.M.O.S.) Valley Alliance of Mentors for Opportunies and Scholarships.
