Valentin Lopez, Sr., 86, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at his residence in La Blanca, Texas. He was born on February 14, 1924 in Harlingen, Texas.
Mr. Lopez is preceded in death by his parents, wife; Maria Dolores Cantu and his sister; Margarita Martinez.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons; Valentin (Minerva) Lopez, Ricardo (Yolanda) Lopez, John (Terrie) Hernandez, daughters; Maria Elena (Juan) Arcello, Maria Alicia (Luis) Lorenzi, Angelita (Rogelio) Hurdado, 21- Grandchildren, 17- Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great- Granddaughter.
Mr. Lopez was an outdoor sportsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will truly be missed by his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched.
The Lopez Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 30, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian mass will be held on Friday, December 31, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services were entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
