Viola G. Vera, 85, entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. She was born on a Thursday, August 20, 1936 in San Manuel, Texas to Juan Guerra and Corina Garza. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Benito Vera.
Viola is survived by her children; Benito Vera, Jr, John (Dora) Vera, Dollie (Juan) Rodriguez and Missy (James) Grimsinger, her brother, Oscar Guerra and Richard (Eva) Guerra, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Viola lived in Edinburg most of her life and worked at Region One Education Service Center for 28 years serving as a Migrant Department Secretary. She had loving and friendly heart with family get togethers being her favorite but other hobbies included crocheting and watching novelas. Viola will be greatly missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
Her family will receive friends Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn, Edinburg, Texas with the burial to follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 4607 North Sugar Road, Pharr, Texas. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and Staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
