EDINBURG — Virginia “Ine” C. Vasquez, 94, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center in Edinburg. She was born on April 9, 1920 in Edinburg, Texas to Pedro Chavez, Sr. and Elena Flores Chavez. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Guadalupe Vasquez; brothers, Adan and Pedro Chavez, Jr.; sister, Ramona Chavez and daughter-in-law, Yolanda Vasquez.
Mrs. Vasquez is survived by her loving sons, Jose R. (Angelita) Vasquez, Pete G. Vasquez and Ernesto Vasquez; daughter, Aida Diana Galvan; brothers; Gilbert and Ernesto Chavez; sisters, Carolina Serda and Adela Krakos, 12 – grandchildren, 20 – great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Ine as she was affectionately known was a great cook and baker. She was a very independent woman who loved to exercise and always stay active. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile. She lived a wonderful life and her legacy will continue through her family.
The Vasquez family will received friend on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Christian Mass will be held today, Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be J.J. Vasquez, Gilbert Vasquez, Christopher Vasquez, Ray Galvan, Michael Galvan and Ernesto Vasquez, Jr. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
