William “Willie” Alvarez, 50, entered eternal rest on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. He was born on a Thursday, December 10, 1970 in Plymouth, Indiana to Guillermo Alvarez, Sr. and Janie Leija.
Willie is survived by his loving wife of 20 years; Maria Monserrato Gutierrez Alvarez, daughters; Giselle Denae Alvarez and Valerie Renae Alvarez, son; Brandon Rei Alvarez, parents, sister; Cynthia (Joe) Alvarez Rodriguez, brothers; Jaime Joel (Laura) Alvarez and Efrain (Brenda) Alvarez, numerous nieces and nephews.
Willie lived in Edinburg most of his life and was a graduate of Edinburg High School Class of 1989. He worked in the oilfields for many years seasonal, but his greatest accomplishment was graduating from the Police Academy and working as a Police officer/Security Guard most of his career. He also enjoy playing golf, fishing, bar-b-quing and the outdoors. He also enjoyed watching the Houston Texans and Houston Astros. But, his greatest joy were his children. He will be greatly missed by his wife, children, mom, family and all those whose lives he touched.
The Alvarez family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a prayer service to be held at 6:00 PM with Pastor Delia Garcia officiating. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and Staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
