Willie Santos

June 5, 1944 — December 12, 2021

Willie Santos, 77, entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 12, 2021 “El Dia de la Virgen de Guadalupe” at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Acts 20:35 says; In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” So at 10:12 a.m., the Lord called him home and a golden heart stopped beating. We Love our “Tio Willie”, but he was tired and it was time for him to go home. The Lord gives and he also takes on his time, not ours. He was born on a Monday, June 5, 1944 in Edinburg, Texas to Tomas Santos and Maria Olivarez Santos. He is preceded in death by his parents, son; Ricky Santos, brothers; Zenon Moya and Juan O. Santos, sisters; Lala Martinez, Tomasa Salazar and Olga (Baldomero, Sr.) Garces and step-son; Ruben Fuentes.
Left to cherish his memories are his companion of 31 years; Andrea “A.J” Jimenez, children; William (Eva) Santos, Lorinda “Lori” (Rogelio) Santos-Sanchez, Andy Santos, Reymundo “BB” Fuentes, Imelda (Manuel) Ambriz and Ida Fuentes, brother; Ramiro (Ninfa) Santos, sister; Aurora Garza, brother-in-law; Joel Salazar, Sr., 19 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Willie was a humble and generous gentleman. He was self-employed as a Diesel and small engine mechanic for so many years. There was nothing that he couldn’t fix. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends. He enjoyed socializing, telling jokes, gardening, dancing, and playing dominos and pool. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched.
His family will receive friends on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg.
